ARK UV EPOXY CLEARCOAT

SOLVENT-FREE EPOXY CLEARCOAT WITH GOOD GLOSS AND UV RESISTANCE.

Use above or below the waterline

USE OVER: Epoxy, Fibreglass, Gelcoat, Wood, Metal, Concrete.

SURFACE PREP: Apply directly to clean dry wood.  For fiberglass, Epoxy, Gelcoat, metal, clean surface with Acetone or Lacquer thinner, sand, and remove dust.  Do not use Varsol or any petroleum-based solvents to clean surfaces.

MIXING:  Mix 2 parts resin (A) with 1 part Hardener (B).  Use graduated containers to measure, don’t guess, too much or too little hardener will affect a proper cure.  Mix for 2 minutes, scraping the sides and the bottom of the container. Mix only what you can use within the recommended pot life. Avoid leaving mixed epoxy in direct sunlight.

APPLICATION: Best results are usually obtained with a Euro-type round end foam roller.  Cross roll a thin coat, and tip immediately with a foam brush for a smoother finish. Apply 3 coats above the waterline, and 4 or 5 below for long-term submersion.  For a smoother final finish, sand with 220 before the final coat.

RECOATING: Recoat without sanding as soon as the previous coat is tacky to touch, approximately 5 to 6 hours at 25C.  After 24 hours, or when the coating is hard to the touch, sand with 180 grit before recoating.

COLORING:  ARK UV EPOXY CLEARCOAT can be pigmented with ARK UNIVERSAL PIGMENTS. Add a maximum of 15% pigment to the Resin (A) only, and stir for at least 2 minutes.  Mix pigmented resin with hardener, and stir again for 2 minutes.
