WAXED GELCOAT

FOR REPAIR AND RESURFACING OF FIBERGLASS BOATS, ATVs, RV’s TUBS

PREP:

  • Clean and degrease/dewax surface with Acetone
  • Apply only over fiberglass (polyester resin) or gelcoat
  • Clean brushes and tools with acetone
  • Be sure to sand and dewax with Acetone between coats.

Add 1.5 % MEKP Hardener (8 drops per ounce) when temperatures are above 20C/70F, and 2% (10 drops per oz.) when temperatures are below.  Mix only the volume of Gelcoat you can use within 10 to 15 minutes.  The working time is about 15 to 20 min and is sandable in 3 to 4  hours. It can be longer when temperatures are below 15C°. Do not use below temperatures of 8C/46F

Brush or roll out as smoothly as possible over clean sanded to 220 grit Gelcoat or Polyester Resin.  Gelcoat does not flow like paint so it will need to be wet sanded to 1200 grit and buffed to blend and achieve a high gloss finish.
